Beach Fishing Tutorial – Surf Fishing the Easiest Way Tips and 101

Beach fishing is one of the most exciting ways to fish for saltwater fish- and especially when you have bloodworms and shrimp, you can catch nearly anything. In this vid, I do a very basic tutorial mainly for people looking to get into saltwater fishing from the beach where I break down step by step how to catch fish from the surf zone.

Here is the equipment used in the video

If you want to catch bigger fish. Cut up a fish that is within regulations and legal to use for bait such as a mullet and put it on a larger hook (size 3) and see what you catch

  1. I just got my saltwater rig and have been practicing my cast. So far 110 yds.
I look forward to this weekend and starting with shrimp and up sizing into my 9/0 rigs. Hopefully it gets rowdy!

  2. Thank you for this video. We’re going to give surf fishing a try for the first time in Cape Cod this year!

  3. Do you have a link for that particular bottom rig you use? I’m checking some of them out, but seems like quite a few have clips on each end (with the part you tie your hook in, theres a clip for the weight).

  4. First day 14 largemouth bass, 2 six pounders, and one 8 1/2. Great strength and sensitivity. Love it…

  5. “If you’re a girl or…maybe you just don’t like blood then wear gloves” 😂😂😂

cheers from uruguay! We do alot of surft casting on our atlantic coast! Have never heard of worms for beach surf down here! Might give it a go!

  6. If that mallet you caught was the same we have in Biloxi Mississippi some of us here call it biloxi bacon At least the older generation does I don’t know if the younger people do I grew up calling with that

  7. what size rod are you using? i got a 4 oz weight limit on mine and i cant keep the line where i want it with that weight

  8. These guys are getting rich on these videos and dont have real jobs. They also put unnecessary stress on the sharks i saw them catch by dragging the shark thru the sand. This is outlined in many State guidlines.

  9. How do you keep the waves from pulling your fishing line say to the left or right ? I’m using a 3oz weight . Drop rig .

  10. I fished with bait once when I was 8 years old and went straight to lures ,… never touched bait ever again… I also graduated to casting conventional multiplier reels and 12’ heavers for the 200 yard cast ,… no more fooling around ,… that was over 50 years ago…and I’m still casting 200 yards

  11. There are a lot of areas on the beach it would have been good to describe where on the beach you were actually fishing

  12. May I ask why you don’t keep all the ones you caught to eat? Or you where fishing for certain type etc?

  13. I was waiting for the part where the author would talk about reading the beach. There are rip tides to watch for. The waves create channels in the sand bars where fish travel thru. You cast your arm off and not catch a thing unless you’re fishing in the right spot.

  14. Love this. https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend Got it a couple weeks ago hated having to wait almost 2 weeks to get it out fishing. This pole is one of our new catfish poles. It stood up quite well today. It casts great. It reels smoothly. The pole is easily collapsible. friend ended up catching only one fish because we didn’t have too long to fish, and he reeled it in easily. Good buy. Hubby is happy so I am happy! Looking forward to warmer temps so we can spend more time playing with it!

  15. I would do a "loop to loop" connection for when you connect your hooks to the main rig, instead of a slipknot like you did, should be a much stronger connection

  16. Wow. Straight to the point and not wasting your time. Great tutorial. I’ll have to figure out how to make it work in Tampa.

  17. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que ha dado a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo aquel que en él cree, no se pierda, mas tenga vida eterna.” Juan 3:16
