Pier Fishing: This Could Catch Anything!

Pier Fishing: This Could Catch Anything!

Pier fishing with live sardines for bait on a standard bottom rig could catch almost anything! Pier fish tend to be opportunistic like fish in most places, so a live bait like a sardine or a pilchard will typically entice a bite. Long days fishing on the pier will always be fun for me!

  1. Brooo… you make me miss salt fishing so bad! Havent been able to go to the beach this year. Sitting at home tying rigs while watching your vids. Would love to come fish with ya sometime

  2. This place hasn’t changed over 50 yrs, snook, reds, drum, kings, bonita ,flounder, macks ,cudas, bluefish, jacks, tarpon, sharks, snapper,

  3. Just wondering why you are that guy that walks all around the pier while other people are fishing. Is that really necessary? I have pier fished a few times and never had to interrupt every other fisherman on the pier.

  4. Final update: this little reel is the little engine that could https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e . It performed flawlessly and was easy to adjust drag in the moment while I was battling a 35lb bat ray behemoth. Mind you, this reel is spooled with only 25 lb braid and 25 mono topshot. It’s paired with the kastking telescopic heavy power rod and the two work well together. This has now earned my respect and confidence when traveling and fishing. If you have ever hooked into large rays and sharks, you know they pull extremely hard and can run forever! This thing clamped down on the fish and was easy to adjust during the fight. It has a nice decently fast retrieve as well. Twice the fish went on mad runs and I was able to gain back line quickly to avoid spooling.

  5. bro idk where you from love your vids😂 but from where i am a Sardine is the same as a pilchard maby in your country its a different species but in my country its thr same

  6. Nice content. Question, how did you not get all tangled up when you bring your rod over all those other rods?

  7. Moved to Lakeland when I was 13. Last of 5 kids, only boy. My dad was stationed at Patrick AFB, so if we went to the beach it was Satellite or Cocoa Beach. Looking back on it now, with 3 boys of my own, it was a great time to be a kid in Florida in the 70’s and 80’s. The stories that were told, the people you’d meet while fishing on a pier has to be like train travel 100 years ago.
Unfortunately, or fortunately, Gheenoe Boat Manufacturing showed up and that was the end of my pier fishing and shrimping days.
But what I’ll remember most about those first couple years in Florida was the pier fishing, the walk down A-1-A to Lums for two hotdogs and back to fishing. All this before sunscreen was for normal people….
    Thanks for the memories Ryan!

  8. Hey Ryan, I want to get a conventional reel for snook, preferably an avet reel or an accurate reel, could you tell me what size/model is good for snook fishing off the pier?
