Guilty as charged skipper.. I fish for boats when I cant seem to find a patty or the hot spot…On the 43 this week.. it was easy to find. the Aztec was right on it…we got skunked anyway….I assume they have better intel and fish finders..even though i have fishdope and new latest simrad gear… they get paid to find the fish…..and yes i sneak up on patties.. sometimes…not anymore!@…thanks Capt Dave…

When you talked about fishing for boats, you reminded me a professor I had in college (architecture), he was teaching descriptive geometry, and his class was one of the hardest (we had complex exercises that took weeks to resolve). When all of us were trying to resolve a curve of a compound object or something like that and no one has done it yet, he talked about what he called the "head-ass fallacy" which is when there’s a group of people trying to resolve a problem and one of them appears to know what he’s doing, you shouldn’t follow him, because what always ends up happening, is that a bunch of ignorant bystanders will follow him closely, so closely that they can even insert their heads into the leader’s ass (hence the term head-ass), but turns out he wasn’t on the right path to resolving the problem, and you just wasted a whole week worth of work instead of doing your own work, and even if he was on the right path, he would be able to foresee and tackle the problems ahead, but you having your head up his ass, will not be able to see the wall coming, and when he takes a turn before the wall, you will just keep your motion forward and crash into the wall. Do your own work instead of focusing on what everybody else is doing
